Cheryl Clark has been a medical & science journalist for more than three decades. She developed one of the nation’s first beats on HIV-AIDS at a major newspaper in the early 1980s, covered the rollout and rulemaking of the Affordable Care Act between 2009 and 2015, and authored a 2018 series on a diabetes “treatment” that experts called a scam and became a PBS NewsHour segment with Judy Woodruff. She is a four-time finalist and one-time winner in the National Institute for Health Care Management’s journalism awards program. Her reporting now focuses on physician practice hurdles and public policy. She was raised in Washington, D.C., and lives in San Diego.
