You may remember our discussions with filmmaker Jennifer LIn about her film TEN TIMES BETTER, the award-winning film about dancer-turned-blackjack dealer George Lee. George was born in China and took ballet lessons there as a child under Russian teachers. He and his mother moved to New york, where the teenager was featured in the 1954 premiere of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker for the NYC Ballet.

IN ADDITION, Jennifer's production company is nearing completion of its next film, ABOUT FACE, which takes a frank look at the problems with depicting Asian characters in ballet throughout its history. It spotlights the work of Gina and Phil, the powerhouses who are galvanizing a conversation around reimagining ballet to be more relevant to diverse audiences today and in the future.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP the film get through its final production processes, like fine-tuning the audio and color, licensing music and buying rights for archival photos and video, then please consider making a tax-deductible donation for ABOUT FACE through their nonprofit fiscal agent, the Center for Independent Documentary.
