The man is a walking encyclopedia about the roots of rock, rhythm-and-blues music from the 60s, 70s and 80s that led to rock, hip-hop, rap, and the music we enjoy today from artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Or Bret Michaels and Poison, seen here with Mr. Trousdale:
Speaking of Taylor, she was born and raised in central Pennsylvania, a hotbed of "Northern Soul," the R&B music that Bill knows well. One way or another, she and her family were most likely influenced by these tunes.
